From 8th-13th July, 1915, 2nd Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry of 5 Brigade, 2nd Division were in the front line trenches at Givenchy in northern France. The Battalion Diary makes no mention of any casualties during this tour but does record that on 13th July, the enemy fired between 30 and 40 large shells at Pont Fixe, the bridge that crossed the La Bassée Canal at Cuinchy. |
